A New Tool to Help Women Keep Life “in
Balance” by Paula Grendys

Dear
MAKK:
Elimination for me is not the
issue-for me, it is what to do with the things I'm
eliminating. There is quite a bit of stuff that is
still useful and it seems like a waste to just
throw it out. What can I do with it
all?
"Stuff needing a home" in Bethel
Park
Dear "Stuff":
There are
quite a few options for you-depending on how
creative and/or diligent you choose to be. Selling
your wares on online is an option at eBay,
half.com, Pittsburghauction.com or any number of
sites. Or you can take books, cds, videos and such
to places like Half-price books and
other"buy/sell" type stores.
Then, of
course, there is always the option of donating
these items to charity. There are a host of local
charities who would be more than happy to receive
these items. Not only are you giving back by way
of donation, you are also getting a tax deduction
come tax time (for more info regarding this-check
out the next article on ItsDeductible.) As a
value-added service to my clients, I usually take
what they are eliminating with me and simply
provide them with the receipt. I will take things
to my clients' charity of choice, but I find I
mostly go to Goodwill, Dress for Success
Pittsburgh, and the Women's Center and Shelter of
Pittsburgh. I've recently been made aware of
Genesys of Pittsburgh-which helps women with
unplanned pregnancies get on their feet. So
"Stuff", as you can see, there are any number of
places to get rid of all the things you are
finally eliminating from your life. Good Luck!

I know of a tool to help
women Keep Life “In Balance”. Yeah right, you say?
Isn’t that what we ALL are searching for – that
magic bean to make our lives less hectic and more
“in balance”? Give me a break!
We know that
women constantly work to maintain balance in their
lives. We do anything to protect our children, and
work hard to run our businesses and households
efficiently. And our minds are constantly racing!
How many times have you: -Thought about writing
or revising your Will? -Purchased a
home? -Had an income tax question? -Paid a
bill you knew was unfair? -Received a moving
traffic violation you thought was unfair? -Had
a question about your consumer rights? -Had a
problem with child support or visitation
rights? -Signed a legally-binding document and
been sorry later? -Wanted advice on a credit
matter? -Worried about an IRS audit? -Needed
assistance in dealing with the purchase of a
new/used car?
But the idea of calling a
lawyer before signing a contract or making an
important decision just isn’t an option. Why?
Well, duh! Because: -We are intimidated by
lawyers -Don’t know who to call -Or believe
it will cost too much!
Many do not know
that Legal Service Plans protect businesses &
families. Simply put, a legal plan does for
attorney and legal bills what an HMO does for
doctor and hospital bills. Plans are designed with
the cost-conscious consumer in mind. They are
specifically designed for families, small
businesses, and groups of employees as a unique
benefit.
Wouldn’t it be great if you could
call your attorney to? -Discuss any matter that
comes up -Make phone calls or write letters on
your behalf -Review contracts and documents for
you -Create and update Wills for you and your
spouse
Now wouldn’t you look smart when a
family or business issue arises, and you say,
“Well, I don’t know about that…. I’d like to call
my attorney first. I will get back to you…”
And think about all of the time you’d save
consulting with an expert first, without having to
do all of the leg work yourself!
Legal
service plans are for families & small
businesses that are wise enough to seek legal
advice on everyday matters, and smart enough not
to pay hefty legal fees.
